“God of Carnage” and the Caprice at the Pierre: An Evening with Ken Stott

Wow! I got to be in "God of Carnage" on Broadway. This is me on the set. I played one of the pillows.

This is Ken Stott actually during the play,"God of Carnage." He is a great actor and he's my buddy.

As usual, I earned my keep by helping out back stage.

After the show my friends Zach, Ken (as himself), Nina, and Marsha all got to be on the stage, too.

Here we are leaving the theater, ready to face our fans; it's sort of like Madison Square Garden.

The Caprice at the Pierre Hotel is one of the best restaurants in New York, maybe in the World!

Everyone at Caprice made a big deal about Ken because he is a big star.

Friday Nite with Yoyo Ma & Emanual Ax at Carnegie Hall, and The Marshall Tucker Band at B.B. Kings

On Friday, January 29th, The Marshall Tucker Band was in Town the same night that Yoyo Ma and Emanual Ax were performing at Carnegie Hall. I saw both. Yoyo Ma & Emanual Ax were great, but to my liking, the program could have used a Brahms sonata. The MT Band, Southern Rock’s best, just keeps getting better and better.

: This duo — artistically combining passion, precision, and thematic planning — is outright heavely.

: This is the view from one of the side second tier boxes at Carnegie Hall; we sat here (in Box 16).

: Emaual Ax is every bit as much a showman and virtuoso as Yoyo Ma … well almost … lol.

: Here we are at B.B. Kings on 42nd Street; this is where the MT Band is playing.

: As usual, I helped out back stage and with the sound.

: Doug Gray is the lead singer and leader of the pack. Doug is the sweetest, kindest man in the world.

: Marcus Henderson plays the flute, sax, and keyboard with equal agility and insanity.

“A Little Night Music” with the Beautiful and Talented Catherine Zeta-Jones

: The Walter Kerr Theater has these cool classical murals.

: Catherine Zeta-Jones was really wonderful. After seeing Night Music, I’d see her in anything

: Catherine, if you ever leave Michael Douglas for any reason, PLEASE call me right away.

She has a very nice singing voice; “Send in the Clowns” was my favorite song.

This exceptional show is thee hours long, so I bought a big bag of Skittles and big box of Milk Duds to eat.

“Avatar” the Movie Was Great in 3-D at the Lowe’s Theater on 34th Street!

I saw Avatar in 3-D but here are some still photos that I took. Yes, it’s me, Carnegie. and I don’t write reviews, but … The movie, Avatar, is like the futuristic pay-it-forward of colonialism. This great movie in 3-D will revive movie theaters, which maybe should consider expanding concessions to include actual food. My vote? This is the best movie of the year (so far), and I am not a science friction fan.

: I saw Avatar at Lowe’s Theater on 34th St. It has an old Hollywood feel complete with fake palm trees.

: The Lowe’s is a bit scary because there’s a very big King Kong on the wall.

: The rug is very nice. When the movie got a little too intense for me, I went out and stared at the rug.

: This is one of the Lowe’s light fixtures. I like them even more than the rug and I like the rug a lot.

: Avatar takes place on the planet “Pandora” at some time far in the future, like 2054.

: To get to Pandora, the humans go into suspended animation so that they don’t look old in the movie.

: Of course the movie is science fiction, but here is the hero of the movie’s brain just floating around.

: Some of the creatures on Pandora look like seriously upset and confused blue cows.

: The people are blue too, but they are long and thin and beautiful, like West Village models.

: Everyone on Pandora must have Facebook, because all the people there are well connected.

: Pandora is a very peaceful and beautiful planet (until the evil humans get there).

: Greedy Earthlings invade Pandora bringing way bad karma.

: The poor Pandorans have to get all painted up to go to war with the Earthlings.

: Unlike Earth, there is no sexism on Pandora. Females and males are equal.

: Avatar is a love story. Personally, I think that it’s a lot like Casablanca with Bogie and Ingrid Bergman.

: For this movie, get a really big thingy of popcorn and some Twizzlers, because the movie is 3 hours long.

American Composer Aaron Jay Kernis’ 50th Birthday Celebration at Poisson Rouge in Soho New York

Pulitzer Prize winning Aaron Jay Kernis is an American Composer of great renown. He had his 50th birthday celebration at Poisson Rouge and it was a wonderful musical event. I was just glad to be there.

The party was at Poisson Rouge, but the fish were actually big "gold fish."

This is the birthday boy himself. I think he really enjoyed his party.

The music was terrific because it was Aaron's music that they played.

New Years Eve 2010 in Key West was ushered in by the dropping of a ginormous red pump with a famed drag queen named Sushi inside it. CNN always covers the shoe drop. I love the performers and just people watching.

Sushi lands safely.

I actually got to be on stage with my friends at Bourbon Street. (The show was before the shoe drop.)

This is my friend Butch. He was one of the male dancers.

This is Joey, he is a dancer too. I think that he works out a lot.

These gorgeous women were the ladies in waiting for Sushi. I was really glad just to be in the show at all.

This beautiful young woman was the (not drag) Queen of the New Year 2010.

This friendly clan came over from Scotland just for this New Year's party.

Fast Buck Freddy had a great New Year's Eve

There were a lot of pirates in Key West. I think Key West is famous for having a lot of pirates.

Santa and I hung out. He was exhausted from working all through Christmas

This poor man was really angry because his boyfriend left him.

After everything was over, I was pretty hungry. So I went and had a bite at Jimmy's buffet.

This sculpture was at the Key West Airport. I always feel sad when I leaf Key West.

Key West Is One of My Favorite Places to Vacation

I am on vacation in Key West. I was here last New Year’s week, too. I like it a lot even though it is very conservative … not! I stay at the Marquesa Hotel. It had the most beautiful plants!

Key West is my favorite winter getaway because it has really nice flags and blue skies.

I love the Marquesa Hotel. This is my room right by the pool. Of course I swim every day.

I earned a little extra money here by doing some modeling. I was the Item of the Week.

I have a lot of friends in Key West - This is my friend, Reggie.

: This is my friend, Captain Beatles, and this is the one and only real yellow submarine, too.

This is my friend Quack ... in spite of his name, he isn't really a duck, he's a white parrot.

This is my friend max; he lives at the Hemingway house even though he has no extra toes.

I heard this really great band GERD Rube, and guess what? I have GERD myself!

Believe it or not, you don't have to wear clothes in Key West ... I think.

Believe it or not, the Garden of Eden is in Key West!

I like window shopping in Key West; there are a lot of interesting stores.

Way Cool “Meridian Restaurant” in Winston-Salem North Carolina

Though I would hardly call myself a restaurant critic, by just being a New Yorker, I am a fussy food foodie. Everyone in New York is an expert on everything (just ask them) … all New Yorkers think that they are foodies. Anyway, I think that the Meridian Restaurant in Winston-Salem is delicious, especially the fried oysters and the venison osso buco. Yup, it’s top shelf, even by Manhattan standards.

The architecture of the restaurant's space blends well with the old downtown buildings!

I like the lighting and the openness.

The owners are the chefs here, and they are very very good.

This is Daniel; I think that he's the best waiter in the world! The reflections in the window are cool, too.

This is another window reflection view of the Wachovia Building in Winston-salem.

Not far from the Meridian is the West End Opera House. No singing, just pool and darts here.

This building is accross the street. I like it a lot. Don't you think it looks like it belongs in Miami Beach?

Handel’s “Messiah” at My (Carnegie’s) Hall December 14, 2009

For me, hearing and seeing Handel’s Messiah at my namesake hall (Carnegie Hall) is one of the high points of the holiday season. I went with friends last night, and it was heavenly. The Hallelujah Chorus really rocks! You’d never know it was classical music. I certainly hope that you, all my friends and fans, have a happy and healthy holiday season and New Year!

Gosh there were hundreds of people on that stage just singing their hearts out.

Me and Fred, Latasha, and Rose all had really great box seats right up front.

Everyone stands for the Hallelujah Chorus. Sometimes people sing, too. I sang very loud!

Dinner at Joël Robuchon at the Four Seasons Hotel in New York

Mom and I had dinner with our friends from Montreal, Joan and Luc, at the Four Seasons. I was happy because it was fun! No cat food here! There was foam in the fois gras (whatever that is), and the profiterole was yummy. The wait staff was really sweet; I wanted to eat them up.

This is me in Joël Robuchon's restaurant; it is very fancy.

The Four Seasons Hotel is way cool because much of it looks sort of like an art gallery.

This is Luc. He is smiling, because today is Joan and Luc's 27th wedding anniversary.

I made some nice new friends in the hotel lobby.

When all is said and done, the Four Seasons Hotel is truly a place that a cat can get a head.
